Dining is where Allure of the Seas quietly over-delivers. You could eat only in the complimentary venues all week and never feel short-changed: the three main dining rooms (Silk, The Grande and American Icon) share one menu but each has its own look, and the kitchen turns out consistently good, generous plates. The real secret weapon, though, is Park Café in Central Park: its roast-beef Kummelweck sandwich is a cult favourite and a far calmer lunch than the always-busy Windjammer buffet.
The specialty restaurants are worth the extra spend if you pick well. Chops Grille is a dependable steakhouse, 150 Central Park is the standout for a special evening, Sabor brings genuinely lively Mexican flavours, and Izumi's hibachi is as much show as meal. Not everything lands: a few casual spots are ordinary and the suite-only Coastal Kitchen can be hit or miss, but the sheer breadth of choice means there is always somewhere good to eat.
- Reserve your specialty restaurants and headline main-dining times online before you sail: the good slots go early
- Escape the Windjammer crush at lunch: Park Café and the Solarium Bistro are calmer and, honestly, better
- Café Promenade is open 24 hours, and the ham & cheese mini-croissants are the late-night hero
- Book 150 Central Park and Chops Grille for a port evening, when the ship is quietest
- If you only pay for one specialty meal, make it 150 Central Park's tasting menu
